Standard Bulb
A STANDARD BULB is made up of the 2 1/4" x 5/8" sensing unit plus a bendable stem on a sliding union connection which is mounted . The STANDARD BULB is provided in variable lengths "A" to match different length sockets - i.e. 4", 6", 9", 12", 15", 18", 24". A 1/2" NPSM sliding union connection is standard but a 1-1/4"-18 sliding union connection can be supplied instead. The STANDARD BULB is used where the sensing element is to be mounted in a socket, hub or flange.

Plain Bulb
A PLAIN BULB is the same as a STANDARD BULB except that the sliding union connection is not included. The PLAIN BULB is provided in a single length as shown; longer lengths are available on special order. The PLAIN BULB is used where the sensing element is not to be mounted in a socket, hub or flange and/or where the stem is to be bent to fit a particular application.

Air Bulb
An AIR BULB is a more sensitive sensing element then the STANDARD or PLAIN BULB but is longer overall and cannot be used in a socket. It is provided in a single configuration. Special supports for AIR BULBS are available - i.e. the split flange or the standoff support.
